Saskatoon Cancer Patient Lodge at Parkville Manor

The Saskatoon Cancer Lodge initially began as a home for the Police Chief George Donald and his family in 1928. In 1946, the property was purchased by the Catholic Dioses and was occupied by several Bishops until 1980.  In 1982, the Saskatoon Cancer Patient Lodge, funded by donations, was built by the Canadian Cancer Society. They turned it over to the Saskatchewan Cancer Foundation to operate the first provincial accommodation for out-of-town patients receiving care at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre. The Lodge could house up to 28 patients, providing comfortable rooms and home cooked meals. Due to the age of the structure, the Cancer Agency moved from the College Drive site to their current location at 625 25th Street East.

The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency recently began the process to build a new Saskatoon Cancer Patient Lodge on the original site.
