Strategic Direction

The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (SCA)’s strategic direction is comprised of two parts:

  1. A long-term plan that aligns with the broader healthcare national landscape, and specifically the Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control. This is consistent with what is being done in other provinces.

        We have taken steps to re-interpret the national strategy into seven strategic objectives for Saskatchewan:

  • Increase access and participation in cancer screening;
  • Align with best practices in cancer care;
  • Reduce barriers to timely diagnosis and treatment;
  • Integrate digital solutions;
  • Implement innovative models of care;
  • Stabilize and sustain our workforce; and
  • Continued development and implementation of the First Nations and Métis Cancer Strategy.

  1. A more focused, short-term Business Plan with one-year initiatives that we can advance in a focused, intentional way:

In essence, the Strategic Plan is the ‘what’ we are striving for; the Business Plan is the ‘how’ we will get there.
