Saskatchewan Support Groups for Cancer Patients
Many organizations in Saskatchewan and across Canada offer support to cancer patients, families and caregivers. Please see the list below for details on cancer-related support groups, programs, exercise classes and much more. If you are aware of other cancer-related support programs or groups that are not listed on this page and would be helpful for our patients and families, please contact Supportive Care. Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada
You can share experiences, pass on knowledge and gain peer support in a confidential and relaxed atmosphere at a monthly adult Brain Tumour Support Group. New members are always welcome.
The Saskatoon Support group meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 7 - 8:30 p.m. CST. This group is hybrid so people can also join virtually.
A Virtual Western Canada Support Group meets on Zoom on the Last Tuesday of each month from 6:30 - 8 p.m. MST.

It can be challenging to attend support groups in person, which is why they offer a virtual support group that meets every Tuesday of the month from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. (PST).

Canadian Cancer Society
Cancer Connections offers free webinars and discussion groups to support you or your loved ones throughout your cancer journey. Community members take part in discussions, write their own blogs, join groups and exchange messages offering emotional support and practical advice. Membership in this community is free.

Community Services Bereavement & Caregiver Groups
The loss of a loved one can be challenging and there are bereavement and caregiver groups that can help and provide support.

EMPOWER
Lead Pilates offers this free class every Tuesday for men and women currently undergoing cancer treatment or those who have been affected by cancer. Join now and take advantage of this incredible opportunity. The class is offered every Tuesday in person or online.
Forever…In Motion
This gentle movement program includes balance, flexibility, endurance, strength, relaxation, education on fatigue, and fall prevention. They offer workout classes geared to seniors that can be done anytime.

Grief and Loss Group - Saskatoon
Experiencing grief can be a challenging and lonely process. This group offers a safe place to identify and explore the stages of grief. To register, please call Family Services Saskatoon at 306-244-0127.
Grief and Loss Groups - Regina
Everyone's experience with loss or trauma is unique. Healing is not linear and it does not follow timelines or clear stages. This group offer spaces for connection, understanding and belonging to help decrease the loneliness and isolation that grief and trauma can create.
Caring Hearts supports the community in navigating grief, loss, and trauma through counselling, mental health supports, and education.
INpower - Young Women Living Well

Prairies Virtual Support Groups
General Blood Cancer Support Group
This professionally facilitated virtual support group meets every second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. MT / 7 p.m. CT

National Chronic Leukemia Support Group
A support group for those living with or caring for a loved one with a Chronic Leukemia (CLL or CML). This group meets every first Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. MT / 5 p.m. CT
Patients who are interested can email them or register online.
Furthermore, the First Connection program is another way to connect with someone with similar experiences.
Live Well with Cancer
LiveWell with Cancer Workshops are 2.5-hour self-management workshops that meet once a week for six weeks–led by trained peer leaders. As this is a virtual workshop, anyone from Saskatchewan who is living with cancer and/or has been affected by cancer can participate!
Classes are highly participatory. The focus is on building skills for managing your health and maintaining an active and fulfilling life. There is no cost for this program. Each participant receives a free copy of the companion book, Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions. This is for people who are living with and/or have been affected by cancer.

Live Well with Chronic Pain
This free six-week workshop series in Regina empowers participants to develop new skills and abilities to self-manage by building confidence to manage and cope with chronic pain. In a small-group setting, participants can give and receive support from others who share a similar experience. Group leaders are specially trained volunteer Peer Leaders who may also live with shared experiences. Each weekly session is 2.5 hours and is open to individuals who live with chronic pain as well as caregivers for people experiencing chronic pain. LiveWell is also always looking for Peer Leaders to receive training and co-lead future sessions.

Lung Cancer Support Groups
This group brings together patients, family, and caregivers to ask questions, share stories, and offer support while navigating the journey with lung cancer.

Melanoma Canada Patient Support Groups
Melanoma Canada offers various services to support patients, families, and caregivers through every step of their journey.
Check out their Peer-to-Peer Melanoma Support Program, where meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month from 6:30 - 8 p.m. (EST), and patients can join for free online at melanomanetwork.ca.
Ovarian Cancer Canada Support Group
OVdialogue is an online community where women with ovarian cancer can connect for advice and encouragement. This secure discussion board is professionally moderated and available anytime, anywhere.

Pancreatic Peer Support Group
A pancreatic cancer diagnosis can bring a lot of overwhelming emotions and stress, often leading to feelings of isolation and uncertainty. They understand the importance of having someone to talk to about what you’re feeling–someone who has personally experienced what you’re going through, whether you’re a patient, caregiver or loved one of someone with this disease.
Pancreatic Cancer Canada has partnered with the cancer support experts at Wellspring to create a specialized program for our community that offers Peer Support, Monthly Support Groups and Short-Term Counselling specifically geared towards those experiencing the unique impact of pancreatic cancer.

Online Slowga
A combination of gentle flow patterns mixed with gentle yin yoga positions. The class takes place on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and virtually on Zoom. Living Beyond Breast Cancer is a national nonprofit organization that seeks to create a world that understands there is more than one way to have breast cancer. To fulfill our mission of providing trusted information and a community of support, we offer on-demand emotional, practical, and evidence-based content that is meaningful to those newly diagnosed, in treatment, post-treatment, and living with metastatic disease.
Free workout classes (aerobic, HIIT and core, full body strength) can be found on YouTube.

Wellspring offers a range of specialized programs designed to provide connection and belonging; ease pain, fatigue and distress; build strength and mobility; and support financial and workplace challenges. Their programs are available across Canada online, at no charge, and without referral.
A non-profit that provides individual and group support in the areas of stress and mental health counselling, managing treatment side-effects, nutrition support, exercise therapy for better recovery, improving sleep and energy, and managing work, life, and relationships. They offer free programs and services, both online and through our centres in Vancouver, Victoria and Kelowna.
