Supportive Care Services

Our team of social workers, dietitians, and volunteers is here to support cancer patients throughout their journey and beyond. We prioritize providing access to the best physical, psychological, emotional, and practical support services.
Every month, we offer different programs and services in our cancer centers in Regina and Saskatoon, which help patients, their families, and caregivers. These programs include pain management, nutritional support, counseling, art therapy, virtual yoga, meditation, and palliative care. Some of these programs are available online, and some are only offered in Regina at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre or at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre. Read the full list of programs and services available for Regina and Saskatoon below.

*NEW* Sacred Transitions: Indigenous Grief and Loss Support Group

This indigenous-led grief and loss support group is available to cancer patients and their families. Grounded in First Nations and Métis worldviews, the group recognizes grief as a holistic experience—spiritual, emotional, mental and physical—often understood through teachings, such as the Medicine Wheel. Life and death are viewed as transitions within a sacred cycle, with healing supported through ceremony, community and ancestral knowledge.

This culturally grounded space is designed to support patients and their loved in feeling safe, respected, and supported within the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, while helping to reduce barriers to accessing grief support. While this group is culturally led, it is welcome to all patients. Facilitated by Darrel Klyne.

Darrell Klyne has more than 20 years of experience supporting community members through grief, loss, addictions, and family reunification. He has lived in Regina for more than 40 years and brings extensive experience facilitating grief and loss groups and draws on cultural teachings shared by respected mentors. Darrel is deeply committed to supporting Indigenous people as they navigate trauma, healing, and life transitions. Darrel is a proud father of seven and grandfather of seventeen.

This Indigenous Grief and Loss Support Group is a six-week program starting February 4, 2026. Classes will be held every Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the First Nations and Métis Health Centre at Pasqua Hospital. Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions, or as many as possible, to experience the full benefit of the program.
